My bird Flash is almost 2 years old and he has this high pitch squeak he does and it drives us crazy. He will do it several times in a row and start flapping his wings. What can I do to divert this behavior. He seems to do it when he isn't getting attention and sometimes when he is. I also believe he is a he because he is getting darker around his neck and displays male behavior. Please help.

The bird is displaying classic signs of boredom. Males in display includes blazing his eyes and flaring his shoulders whilst swaying in a kinda dance. Your description is more rushing in a frenzy and screeching. Boredom.

Even though he gets plenty of things to destroy? He has an endless supply of shredables and is usually sitting with me in the room.

It's his makeup. Perhaps he would be better suited to a breeding programme. Is he parent reared?
