hens can be attracted to mirrors but its kinda not-very-common. and sumtimes even regurgitate to its own reflection. (this occurs more during the breeding seasons)
(and might even result in an egg!)

do you know how old is your irn?
if he's over a year, u might want to check his gender by the presence of a ring.
but other than that, u cant really tell for sure without a dna test.
(learned that the hard way)
most irns makes noises when they see their reflection. (so i wouldn't use that to determine its gender!)
