This is a curious marking. The cap is not exactly where pied birds are marked and there are no other visible pied markings from what I see in the pics. Are the toes clear ? Are there any more white marks aside from the cap...eg is there a white bib ?

I would say it is a not fully colored/matured clearhead fallow blue cock.
Does birds have red eyes? A visible iris?

thx.

The bird does not have light toenails or other pied markings. Does not look like a clearheaded fallow either.Could be a blue cinnamon with an unusually marked cap.

I was thinking maybe a halfsider they do come in all variations from complete half half to a dot.

Just a thought!

It could just be the early stages of piedness as well!

Thanks Glenn

Hi,

It could be just blue split pied. Split pied IRN can show some clear feathers specially on the head, as well as just one light toe. This is the reason that some people consider that the inheritance is not recessive but incomplete dominant.
