so... we JUST got home with an INdian ringneck. The lady said it was given to her and she didn't even know what breed it was, but that thru her research it appeard to be an IRN. It has a Yellow head. Green and yellow body. Short tail but full (OUr baby IRN have short tails, but aren't full. The adults are full and long) The flight feathers are brownish grey...

Now that we are home with our new baby... and see her amoung our others... do IRN cross breed with anything? She also has a "part" down her chest feathers. (Lime green) I'll get a pix in a few minutes. And she is a lot bigger than our others, but not Alexandrian ringneck size.

Over all looks like an IRN. Quacks like an IRN... so it must be a....

Hi there yes it is an IRN,

Its a green pallid or as some know it a green lacewing.

The beak could be a few things but most likley it just needs some calcium in its diet.
To strengthen the beak etc.

Thanks Glenn

okay thank you! I had assumed it was a lacewing, but the bird looks so different next to our others that I just wanted another opinion on it's breed. Didn't know if IRN can cross with anything else. Thank you glenn!

Will the cuddle bones work for that?

It can but you best getting a calcium pellet or powder and provide it in the diet,
If she doest go for the pellet then either grind it up and put it on the fruit an vege and then you know they get it.

Thanks Glenn

With this mutation, what "Factors" could it be carrying?
