Hey Ya'll:
I am glad the holidays are over. Ya'll?
I miss everyone and will be glad to see the board get back to normal.
Anything new (no matter how small you may think it is) with anyone?
For me, kids are back in school *happy dance*
Hubby bought business in Naples and is now away M-F getting it off the ground so Im a little lonely. In all our years, we have never been apart a single day so this is tramatic for both of us. We are beginning to think we may be co-dependant and exploring that.
Uhm, welp datsa bout all for moi.

Well I sure am glad the holidays are over. Way too a stressful time around here. Prinny is working on her talking...so we'll be hearing more words pretty soon

Can't wait!
Things are quiet, dull for now.

Well came in to work today in a decent mood and everyone here was a grump so now I'm a grump. People! Anyway I too am more than happy that the holidays are over. And that my flu bug is history. And that I can spend time with my birds and not have to worry about them getting sick. I'm ready for Spring! Sick of grey, rain, snow, cold and clouds. Got the winter blahs. Bring on spring!

*Packs a huge box of sunshine from outside into a box and sends in to Jen*
It is 73 here today and everyone is in jackets, we Floridians are punks when it comes to cold.

Thanks Mikaela,
You're the best!!! Bring on the sunshine. I would be a punk when it comes to cold too if I lived in the sunshine state! Is that what Florida is?? I wish! I could only be so lucky. John, my husband, has applied for some jobs in Florida. Maybe one day.

Ah to be in Southern California again *sighs* It gets so cold here near San Francsico BRRR (ok yes Jen I know you're in even colder but I am a native SoCalian LOL

) Anyway, I know what you mean Jen it is so depressing this time of year, everyone is so grumpy!
Mikaela you are lucky for it to be 73! Sometimes I do miss the weather down there...atleast the WINTER weather lol never much one for triple digits heat waves. And the rain...my goodness we must have had the storm of the freakin century around here...10 inches of rain over a weekend...INSANE!
Anyway excuse my rants

I have so many Ringnecks now that I cant get them all into the one photo.
I wanted to update my sig but they wont stay together. Unlike the Sun Conures who are Almost ALways together with a very flock mentality, Ringnecks want to be in small groups of one or two away from the other birds.
Talk about anti social. Only time I see more than three together is around the food plate.

Mikaela It's been a while since we heard from you whats the news?
You all have no idea how great it is to come to these forums where everyone is so supportive. I had to escape back here from some other forums I visit where the people are so mean and nasty.
You all are great, thanks for making this forum a wonderful place.

Ahhhh same ol same ol.
Keeping myself busy with the house, kids, stuff like that.
I have also been going with my husband to Naples a few days a week so he isnt alone. He bought into a business there and is getting it how he wants it.
So, I have to use my T-mobile cell phone card when we are driving and it is as slow as dial up so I dont post much, just make sure the board is ok and noone is being mean to ya'll.
Cuz Bloop, to da curb if negativity happens upon us.
Life treating you great, as usual!? So many babies you cant get them in one pic haha
They all your or are you sitting/recuing the little chickens.

All the babies are well.. I was *supposed* to sell them all but I just get attached, you know. So unless someone in aus really wants to give them a loving home then I guess they stay here.
Baby yellow and Green need a lot of work. They were always very timid and dont like hands. The two grey greens are much friendlier they are a bit nippy.
I guess I wanted to sell perfect birds and because they need work I'm reluctant. So unless someone wants them specifically they stay with us.
8 ringnecks and 4 suns is a bit much tho. I'm thinking of clipping the babies so I can try and train them better. Any thoughts?
They will come around, they sit on the desk in front of me and eat food from my hands. It takes time and effort for ringnecks.

awwww ! the sun conures ! I fell in love with a pair of sun conures on saturday. They were at birdworld in Mornington, I usually visit breeders but we happened past birdworld and had to stop in. Those two came to the side of the cage and gave me the best kisses I have ever had from birds (cept my kai of course) I fell instantly in love.
My girlfriend had to drage me away. No $

pout .. Mind you I fell in love with the ecclectus at the second of the 5 breeders we went to and the Alexandrines so glorious, the cheeky quakers ahh just give me them all, but give me the sun conures first.
Oh Guess What !? I got Brinly my new fat head english budgie

. Then on the way home we stopped in at a friends house for coffee to show off the birds coz my girlfriend fell in love and bought an olive rainbow lori and Janeen the wife says, thats not a real budgie, thats an english budgie, what I have out the back are real budgies. how rude and to say it infront of Brinly (hsssss, my claws nearly came out).
Anyway my second eldest daughter shanah took to him (yes brinly turned out to be a him) I was in the aviary and he flew right into my hands and sat there, how could I not take him and take the fatter more beautiful ones, he is an olive green not near as wonderful looking as all the others, anyway, my daughter loves him and he is as tame as you could hope. He has the most wonderful skirt and beard too and the best angry eyes.. lol .. love the english fat heads (although Brinly's head is not that fat). He is the best .. will post pictures soon as I can take some.
P.S. dont like to grumble but I am in the middle of my first bout of gastro since my kids were babies and I am not handling it very well, another friend of mine had it and came over, stupidly, grrrrrrrrrrr, and I have my monthly on top of that and a tooth ache aswell. NOT doing well myself. But hey! thats life.
Cheers! hope I haven't ranted on too long .. luv ya all !

Oh Angie,
I hope you're feeling better very soon. I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather. And we enjoy your posts so don't feel you're rambling! Post those pics. soon. I don't think I've ever heard of a "fat head" parakeet. You're lucky your friends are into birds, mine hate them. Oh well. Hope you're feeling yourself very soon.
Hugs,
Jen

My husband forgot our Anniversary today.
I Havent mentioned it and wont. I'll give him until tomorrow morning (although I know it has escaped him) and then give him his card (hand-made). Or maybe I'll just throw the card away and let the whole thing go unnoticed. Yeah, thats what I'll do. No sense it making him feel like the crap he IS.
Ouch.
Do so much for him and his to get so little back. Bout sick of it. Didnt want a gift, Im blessed enough.
I just didnt want him to forget it, especially with Boo and my recent recovery.
Maybe he will remember next yr. I just wonder when he will realize he forgot this one.

Go buy yourself a dozen long stem roses... with thorns...
Then go home and whack him with them.
A gift for both of you.

Men are just wired differently. It can be so frustrating but there's no point getting upset over it.
They always constantly need to be told and reminded.
I cant even think about it makes my head hurt. They are just different.

Yeah, Im being a brat. But gosh, I feel like 'The Nanny" over here.
She was HIP she was SQUARE she was THERE

And thats how she became the Nannnnny lalalala
I never forget to feed, clean, kiss or take his kids to the million places they have to go.
Truth be told, think there may be a tiiiiny bit of anomousity there, hey, Im human, not perfect. I made the decision to have only one child, fell in love and adopted these and wouldnt change it for the world. But now that Im off of that medicine my feelings are on my sleeve and thoughts are alot deeper.
Please know it isnt about the gift, hell this is all he got. Just about remembering. A hand written card on computer paper.
Then when I handed him his card at 11:58 last night (wanted to give him every minute to remember) he like to have DIED. Then he said 'I didnt foget! Just havent gotten you what I want to".
I said, "Save the money and spend it on the kids or the house all I wanted was for you to remember".
And the coward cant/wont admit he forgot. THAT is where the problem lies. In his character, or should I say lack thereof.
Had he just been like ACK! Baby I forgot, Im sorry *kiss* I'd be happy girl again but he chose a cowards way out, in my opinion.
HAD HE NOT FORGOT, he would have said "Happy Anniversary, I love you, Money is tight but just know I love you". Bam, good enough for me.
He didnt do that. Why? Because he forgot and isnt man enough to admit it. Then again, I am a scrapper so I would fear admitting that to me too.
Catch 22 *sigh*
Made him sleep in the couch lastnight -giggle- He slid under the covers about 5 am like the snake he is just to lay down on a needle. I warned him not to get into bed, he would be sorry.
Keaaaala, come on.. NO, scat brain dead dial tone hehe. I pittied him only slightly as he walked out of the room with his head hanging low. It isnt even about forgetting now, it is about the lack of character in admitting he forgot
Southern Bells are VERY passionate when it comes to making a point.

I couldnt do that, I'm way to soft. /sigh
We (as in Jay and I) have been having some dramas too. then he goes and does something like this
Those are 3d objects he made in a computer program I have been teaching him how to use.
Anyway Mikaela Arent you being a little too harsh on the guy? I really dont know him (at all) well enough to know his character so I dunno. But I do know that it upsets me to see you upset like that. Cheer up gurl and remember when he rearranged your room to make you happy. He gets it right sometimes ne?

And at christmas his mum didnt know what to get us, i found out she was good at sewing and stuff so I asked her to make us something. She made some really nice pillows and a blanket for our sofa that beats store bought crap too.
