Hi - New IRN owner from NZ.

Hello everyone. I thought I would introduce myself to everyone here. I have been reading this forum for the past couple of days and have just bought home my first IRN. My little darling is just wonderful, she (I assume she is a she) has the most beautiful nature and is so loving. I need to name her as she has previously been named Buddy by her breeders. Is it a good idea to change a birds name? She had a couple of different names with her breeders and does not particularly answer to either of them.
She is a green ringneck and was thinking of calling her 'Verde'. Any opinions would be appreciated. I am not too sure of her age but would assume around 4 - 6 months.
I also have 2 cockatiels. A lutino and a grey, Merlin (a hen - I know strange name for a she but had her about 18 months and she laid eggs) and Charlie respectively.
It is great to find a forum that is so passionate about their feathered friends. I look forward to participating in the board chat about IRN's.

Welcome to our extended family! Hope you enjoy our site as much as we do! You will find that many of our family members have a lot of experience with these wonderful birds and can offer much help. They sure have gotten me thru some tough times with mine. So please add us to your favorites and visit and post often. We LOVE pictures! And video! So please post as much of them as you would like!

I havent been here like I probably should, I appreciate ya'll welcoming people.
Our family always has room for more! I have been paying attention to whether or not a good welcome is important and ya know what? If first time posters arent welcomed, they seem scared to post again.
Probably because SO many boards are mean, not ours!
Ya'll ever been a part of a mean, cliquish board? *shivers*
Most are awful, negative and reak of evil. Or, I have just had bad experiences.

Welcome! YAY more NZers! We have to gather more together to overpower the Aussies!
Verde is a very cool name. Naming my birds is easy, I have to stick with the car theme I have Datsun (green irn) Chevy (crazy budgie) and Audi (baby lovebird).
We LOVE pics so get snapping! ...Go on... what you waiting for?!

Hi and welcome! Verde is a cute name...hehehe I have a friend who's bird is named Salsa Verde...Salsa for short

I also have been happy 2 recieve my first blue ring neck for chrissy (best prezzie eva) He/she name is Luiee (or luiee G at times)

I will post photos as soon as I can. Prinny is just lovely. In fact all the ringnecks here are awesome. They have such character these birds.
