in this one the Turq irn in the middle is a female but she looks like she is getting a ring, so its pretty difficult to tell. Although I will put some pics up of a sexed cock bird that at times i wasnt sure if he was a cock or a hen until he got his ring.

This one is the grey/green that was surgicually sexed as male and bottom is a definate cock and hen (hen kinda looks like she has a ring)

so to answer your question I wouldnt say for sure it looks like the ring coming in because he is a bit too young yet but it could very well be a boy. The ring looks more boot polish ish,and you will be thinking something is wrong with him because the moult he has just gone through is nothing compared to the big boy moult. The big boy moult looks like the bird has been seriously neglected and had heaps of his feathers pulled out.

Both of my birds have that dark spot too, almost exactly like PJ. Mine aren't DNA'd though.

The black comes in between the eyes and cere too.
