help me please

i just adopted a male and female today when i got home he was on bottom of cage lathargic whatt do i do?

Hi there,

He is stressed from the move, keep water near himso he can hydrate himself and keep the room or area dark and minimize the noise around them.

It is probably just stress as Glenn suggested and that is good advice... If you think the bird might be sick, you should use a lamp or a heat lamp to give it extra warmth... If you put the lamp in such a way so that the bird can get away from it if it doesn't need it and closer if it does.

When birds get sick, they use a lot of their energy to fight disease and their body temp can drop... so even if it is warm outside, they may need a heat lamp if they are ill.

You don't want to bake the bird though... so if you do try this make sure only part of its cage is covered by the heat source... they need to be able to get away from it if they don't want it.

Best wishes. Giving your bird time to settle in is a good idea... and don't confront it... just let it observe you without it feeling like you are observing it for a while.

I hope he feels more comfortable soon.
