Is this a pied grey? My friend says that it has white flights and white feathers growing around the neck.

Hi,

A pied IRN shows patches of feathers without melanin and this from feathering. This bird is an adult male IRN and the white feathers which are growing now dysplay an altered structure. Probably the altered structure of the feather is not able to incorporate melanin from melanocytes and, thus, the feather appears white. This is not a mutation but probably some kind of illness.

Doesnt look like a pied, looks like the bird has french moult.

Pied generally will give white wings (flight feathers).
