Hi all,

I want to ask a question from all the experts here. A pair of albino ringnecks is seen to be in mating mood. The female is making a comfortable position for the cross but the male rather on mounting on her is prefering to rub himself again the stick/perch (mating wih stick). What shld be done with this male, as i thiink the eggs wil be infertile. Expert opinion is welcome.

He is a full adult cockbird. Might be that he is breeding for the first time. The female seems to be little older than hm. Will try to gv them a smaller perch but the season is just on its end here.

Thanks for the reply Molossus. I have talked to a local breeder regarding ths and he had this problem with his male exhibition budgie. The budgie use to mate with the stick and mate with the hen too so in his opinion wait and see is the best policy and they are suggesting to widen the perch to a plank of abt 2''x2.5'' so the birds dnt grip their feet on them. Lets see what happens.
