When I got my indian ringneck green Romeo from the man selling him in the paper I thought I had some idea what this was going to be like. You see romeo is my second go with this breed my first Rex was a petland reject whom had ripped out all of his feathers never been touched and had no intentions of doing so. I started working at Petland (I know dont hate me I understand it was a mistake now) about a year after rex had started his run from store to store, I knew nothing about birds other than I knew if I tried hard enough he would warm up, and he did five months later I took him home he was perfect, friendly, was learning how to talk and everything was going great until one day he got his leg caught in his cosmic links and broke it, he didnt make it through the amputation surgery. I was heart broken but determind to rehabilitate another of the 'crazy' and 'too far gone' birds. Romeo belonged to a man who was attempting to breed a pair in a cage not fit for a single ringneck let alone two, the man had never handled either of the 3.5 year old birds and after Romeo killed his mate his owner no longer had use for him and was wanting to sell. Knowing this would be a task I figured not much harder than the first I took him imediatly. I have had romeo for about two years now and nothing has changed I talk to him from a distance and give him the option of leaving his cage whenever he desires which is hardly ever but he throws into screaming fits when I am within a foot of his cage, he is however learning to talk but I just want him to lead a happy ringneck life. I've run out of ideas. some one please help
