Hi all my name is Nicole and i live in Tasmania, Australia i brought my Indian ring neck a week ago she is 10 weeks old and her name is lou lou im new to this training stuff so any hints or tips will be greatly appreciated cheers, look forward to talking to you all

Welcome, there are lots of posts that will be helpful on this site. I have learned so much since getting my first one last year. Now I have 4 and plan to breed and hand feed some. They are incredible birds, beautiful and very smart.

Very gorgeous... Well done on resizing your pic down!

Btw - I think I've figured out why they tuck one leg under themselves a lot... probably everyone else knew this already.... but I noticed when they step up after having one leg tucked up like that, one leg was quite hot. At first when I noticed the difference in temp between their two legs I thought maybe there was something wrong.... but then I figured they must do it to make it nice and warm.

I have successfully used 'clicker' training with one of my birds, and treat rewards with voice praise with another bird, Bubbles.
The clicker had faster results, but not sure if it was the bird or the clicker that the trick was learned quicker.

I use a couple variety of treats only given at training sessions and no other time. I find their fav food, (for Bubbles it is grapes or sunflower seeds) and use that as the reward treat.

Do a search on youtube for different methods of training.
