female wont leave anything in the box

except the egg! she will not have any paper, moss,aspen chips.
is this ok?

have you tried wood shavings? I get the stuff for guinea pigs from the pet shop, and mix it with peat moss and put it in the nesting boxes (when I used to breed them)

Alot of times when the female will remove everything out of the nest box.Its because she wants to go deeper in the box.I have had hens take every piece
of shaving out in a 2' nest box.Add another foot and she would dig a little deeper and be fine.Try going deeper.

some people connect logs to to the outside of the box, this gives the birds the feeling they are going deep into a tree

needs to be deeper 3ft. is what i use. works well.
