hello
when i bought my IRN, the pet shop owner said that he/she was 4 weeks old..he/she barely had any feathers and i was reluctant to take him/her at that age. but i did and i am not sure if his/her feathers are growing at the normal rate...i have looked on the forum at other birds that were around his/her age and they look different..he/she is now 5ish weeks old and has fluffy grey feathers on his back and blue feathers on his wings (sorry i can't figure out how to upload photos ) some parts of his body still don't have any feathers!

I would say he/she was/is a bit younger than they told you.
Here is a thread (you may have already seen it) that has some pics of young irns and there is many more on here to give you an idea of ages.

the thread didn't come through but i have seen some pictures of the babies and thats what made me think that something wasn't right
