I'm wondering what age female IRN's need to be before they can breed

I would say a minimum age of 2 years, 3 being better, although I have read hens laying at just over 12 months of age.

I am not sure if you can actually force a bird to breed. If they are not ready or mature enough to, then I don't think they will.

Jasper did not lay her first egg until she was 3.
My other Lutino has laid this year for the first time and she is 2 yrs.

hi,
It does depend on the bird. but I put my 1 year old cock with a 1 year old female. And they are breeding. I put them next to mature pairs that were breeding so maybe they got gelouse. :?
