not sure if this is the right dept. but anyway

put my ringies in a new aviary the other week ...lately when i go out for a smoke i'll go check the birds out and noticed something quite funny..my female will clamp onto side of the aviary facing a wall which i know they do for a safety thing but my blue ringie will latch onto the roof of ther cage and hang down almost like a bat which i find quite unusual and funny..they both stay in this there all nite cause i will go check them out before i goto work at 6am and their still in the same position but in their old aviary they were in their normal sleeping postion just sleeping on a nice big branch

Yup, this is quite natural! My African Grey hangs upside down when he sleeps!   He is such a silly little bird. Most of my ringnecks go far into the corners of their aviaries--but it's totally natural

Best Wishes,

A couple of my birds will sleep in a corner with one foot on each side of the wire, (almost like doing the splits), hang the beak in a wire square and nod off. But I have not seen any hang upside down to sleep. I wonder how these positions can be comfortable for sleeping.
