Congrats! I'm sure you'll have a little chatterbox on your hands in no time! How old is your IRN? I heard they start whistling and talking around a year of age? Although I'm not really sure.

Wow that's awesome! I love the sounds that IRNs make.....cutest sounds of any bird I think.
Keep us posted if she says anything else

Cool. They are so cute when they start talking. I love the mumbling. They are practicing something new. I have always covered Zazu at night and in the morning he stays mellow in his cage practicing and rehearsing. It is hilarious.
We had a breakthrough though. We call Zazu our talking frog because we tell our family and friends how many cool things he can say and he doesn't even make a bird sound when anyone comes over. The other day my husbands friend came over and Zazu said hiiiii to him

and I said he just said hi to you. So he went over to Zazu and said hi back and he said Hiiii again. I was so proud of him. Sometimes when he is excited it is really long and loud HHHIIIIIIIII!
Ha! funny little birds. So every time they are practicing they will come out with something new within a few weeks it seems.

One of my Ringnecks last night started making sounds like the IRN in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQZH4LYmL0g
Not sure if that is a common sound they make? I've been playing that video and laughing, so maybe they are picking up on the sound? It was so cute when he was doing that, I wanted to change his name to R2D2 haha.

Woah.... that is a cool sound. Never heard that before. Cool. I don't know if I will play that for Zazu. I like to keep him talking or quiet
That was for sure a cool sound.

Very good!!
One of my last year babies is mumbling things. 'Hello' and 'what's doing' is fairly distinctive but not clear. I just don't know which one is guilty as only talks when they can't see me. When I try to sneak in the room to see who it is, all statues staring back at me, and they ALL have guilty looks on their faces.
I know it is not the lutino as she was outside the other day and I heard the chatter in the room.
I think who ever it is, has picked up the words from when I talk to Rafiki.

Ahh that makes me worry that my IRNs will start imitating my cockatoo's screech. One screech is bad enough I don't know how I'll deal with 3!
I try to teach them to whistle instead of screeching, hopefully they'll learn to do that instead
