HELLO TO EVERYBODY,
I am new here .I want to know that i have a pair of YELLOW LACEWING IRN.I bought it from market.This season they breed at my place and i was astonished to see that all three offsprings are normal GREEN and they are now 5 weeks old.Whats the reason behind that.......?

What do you mean with "yellow lacewing"? A green lacewing has a yellow head. So does this fit your bird?

Please post a picture of the parents.

can you tell us how the flight feathers looks like?
Green or with grey wing markings?
Do you have a picture of the backsides of the parents?

Hi i have found some picture of birds which could be fit yours:















So do they look like yours? In the pictures above you can see the grey markings on the flight feathers.

So if the cock doesn't have these markings i would say he is a clearhead fallow (aka buttercop). May be the is a pallid.
If both is true then this pair will only produce green offspring.

I have noticed my birds the Male has grey markings on the end of flight feathers and the female has not.
Now whats the position.The pictures you provided are much similar to my female.

Hm. So please take some back pictures of the two parent birds. Otherwise it is hard to tell what mutation they are.
What color is the neck ring of the male? Black (deep???) or Grey?

Is the color of the chicks normal green or lighter like the father?

Here are some photos from back side of male and female.The ring of male is Grey not Black.

Hm. the mother looks like a pallid. From the backside picture of the father i would say he is a pallid too.
So if both parents are pallid your offspring should show a yellow head.

If the heads of the chicks are green then there is another opportunity. the father could be a heterozygot bronze fallow (bronze fallow NSLino).
Such a bird is shown in bastiaans book at the bronze fallow chapter.

The heads of chicks are not showing any YELLOW pigments at this stage.However one person here told me that only male chicks will change their head color to yellow at the age of about 18 to 24 months.Is it true? And kindly tell me their best matches as i have creaminos,blue and grey lacewings,lutinos,albinos and normal blues and normal olives.

if the chicks were pallids then they must have yellow heads. So they can't be pallids.

See here. There are some pictures of violet pallid youngsters and they have a white head.

So your hen should be a pallid but i can't say exactly what mutation you rcock is.

For my knowlege exporting such birds to and from the euro-region isn't allowed.

It is important to remember that all mutations of ringnecks originated with the green colored birds. Youer birds by the photos are clearly not completely yellow, there is a great deeal of green in them, therefore it is only natural to have green offsoring, especially if the male has more green. Also remember you may have a bird whose father was completely green and only mated with a yellow.

The chicks are now 16 weeks old and one of them showing some yellow on his head.

Let's analyse: if the chick has developped a yellow head at 16 months old we can say that it is a green male (the colour change in the head is induced by the male steroids) and belongs to one of the following mutations:

1: Clearhead cleartail: if it was the case the bird should have also displayed a yellow tail, even before the change in head colour, but it doesn't. They also display from the nest a light colour in feet and nails.

2: Clearhead fallow (old name: buttercup): the father seems to display a too light green colour as for being a clearhead fallow and the ring is grey instead of black ... so it does not seem the right mutation. This is the only mutation in which the adults do not get the white iris ... so have a look at their eyes (father and chick's eyes) to check for it.

3: Bronze fallow: the reasons have been already developed by Madas ... it fullfils all the criteria: lighther green colour, grey neckring, less intensity in yellow head than the clearhead fallow,... In order to get chicks displaying this mutation the mother must also be split for bronze fallow (and the father can be : homozygous bronze fallow, heterozygous NSL-ino/bronze fallow, or just split bronze fallow). Usually the head in bronze fallow is not really yellow but green-yellow or light green. If it is a bronze fallow and the pics colour is true then it could be an heterozygous bronze fallow - NSL ino, since bronze fallow and NSL ino are alleles of the same gen and are codominants (the heterozygous bird must be somewhere between the lutino and the typical bronze fallow with the green-yellow head).

4: Fallow green: both males and females display a clear head from feathering at nest. So this is not a good candidate.

5: Pallid is also an impossible mutation since the yellow head appears from feathering.

So ... I think that there must be the option 3

You are right; I had misunderstood 16 months instead of 16 weeks. In fact the change in head colour will arrive with sexual maturity at 18-36 months (with the neckring), but before it arrives you can already see some yellow feathers in the head.
