Hi all i was just wondering if the winter breeding season is about to start?
I noticed that one of my males started to do his dance over the weekend and now the hen is going in and out of the box.Hopefully it is as i havent had any birds pair up over the last 3 seasons.
The pair is a Cock green split blue split ino and the hen is pastel blue lacewing.
Showed produced some nice babies. (bring on the creamino)

A few of my boys have been trying to get the girls attention since Christmas, but the girls are not taking any notice of their advances.

In the past, my ringies have started laying eggs at earliest in mid July but mainly around August.

Yer thats the time my other ones use to start, But there is always no harm in trying for the males. She has so far welcomed the advances but i don think he knows what he's doing yet.

Just came back from Coolah its about 1.5hrs North west of Mudgee and it was the greenest ive seen in 6 to 8 years.

A few weeks ago when I was working there were heaps of locusts in the early hours of the morning. I didn't realise what they were until I got out of the car. They were up the main street but not here at home.

Shane was playing at Young Services that night and said he had them most of the way from Young to just out of town here.

They were real bad a couple of years ago around Dubbo. Even the wild insect eating birds were obese from too many locust treats!! lol

Yer we came back threw Mudgee and on the weekend i tried to wash the car and i cant get all the bug guts off.

Locust guts is such sticky stuff....would make a great adhesive....hmmmm, a market idea for pest control maybe??!!

I read where some people have had success in removing bugs by using water and one of those 'smell pretty' sheets that go into the clothes dryer. Never tried it though.
