Hi all, Iam looking at getting my first pair of indian ringnecks and hope someone is able to offer assistance. Ive tried to look this up on the gen calculator but got a bit confused. I am looking at getting the following birds and would like to know what they will breed.
Cock Green buttercup (fallow clearhead) split blue
Hen Pastel grey (turquoise) split buttercup
With this combination, could you advise what they will breed.
Thanks very much.

Re: mutation breeding results??
Thank very much for that, great help.
Re: mutation breeding results??
I got back into gen calculator and had another go at it, but came up with different results, anyone able to tell me the difference between the too results. Did I input the incorrect hen details?? to me the cock and hen appear the same but have different results. These are the results that i got when i had a go. Clearing this up would be most appreciated. Thanks

Re: mutation breeding results??
Hi;
Madas' results are correct.
In your results you do not get visual blues. It means that you have considered DF turquoise for the hen, which is much less frequent than SF turquoise as Madas has considered.
Good luck

Re: mutation breeding results??
Thanks, just further to that, what would this be ?? 6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) blue clearhead_fallow, or is there a more common name used? Thanks
Re: mutation breeding results??
Hi;
It means that the probability of a chick being that mutation is 6.25%.
1.0 means male; 0.1 means female (these are international codes which are used in mathematical software to calculate the offspring)
Grey (sf) means that there is just one grey factor, which will be expressed since grey is dominant.
Blue means that this bird is homozygous for blue (blue is recessive and to be expressed the bird must be homozygous).
Clearhead-fallow is the correct name for "buttercup". Similarly to blue the bird must be homozygous to express it since it is a recessive mutation.
When grey is expressed in blue birds the visual appearence of the bird is grey.
So, all together "6.25% 1.0 grey(sf) blue clearhead_fallow" means that "there is a 6.25% probability of getting a visual grey buttercup male chick".
Hope it is clearer
