Re: Billie2
There wasn't much to salvage from the banana leaf toy, the woven ball and the bell survived, but not much else. Sanjay spent more time out, but didn't chase shadows, And he didn't splat until he was back in his cage!
Re: Billie2
Typical, Billie is very good she poops in different places each day, mostly she misses the cage and the first poop is the biggest. I bought some corn on the cob today and when she was not looking l hung some up in her cage and when she flew back to the cage it only took a moment for her to see it and she tucked in, l decided to leave her pomegranite hanging and for several days she has not touched it l think it is too sharp for having tasted it myself. I was hanging up a slice of bananna but l have exchanged that for some sweet potato. She gets a new bucket of sunflower seeds tomorrow (One a week)

Re: Billie2
I alternate sweet corn cobs with bitter gourd, but he only eats the bitter gourd if the inside flesh is red, he must have x ray vision! Because one cannot tell without cutting it. Today he didn't want his usual tickle, but twittered around on the chandelier, playing with the droplets. It was lovely out, so I filled my half barrel "pond" and put my King Cup (marsh marigold) in situ, as it should flower soon, I brought it back from one of the Royal gardens at Windsor two years ago, they have a gift and garden centre, the plants they sell come from the Windsor Castle estate. After that, Sanjay and I shared some buttered toast.
Re: Billie2
So Sanjay knows what side his toast is buttered? Billie does too we sat down to a poached egg on toast, and toast and marmalde Billie scoffed her corner of T&M before l had eaten half my egg. So l offered her a corner of fruit crunch, she took it and threw it away, so l offered her a sliver of biscuit but she threw that away too, she wanted some more toast and marmalde and when that was not forth coming she landed on the table and made a bee line for my toast and marmalade l let her have a nibble. This after noon she flew down to the floor and walked around as if she owned the joint, she was not looking for a nest, just cuirous. I stopped her from going under the my swivel chair, so she decided to chew my shoes instead but after gettijng bored with the floor she returned to her cage. She enjoyed a paddle in her larger dog bowl she likes it perched on tiop of the book case she can see down the drive as she bathes.

Re: Billie2
Neighbourhood watch. Sanjay gave me a scare today, when I came through with his fresh rations he was nowhere to be seen!, the windows were shut, and I was quite nonplussed, very quiet, even when I made the usual daft noises, then I spied the little minkey, perching right in the corner of the bay window on the curtain rail. He Never used to do that!.
Re: Billie2
Billie sits as quiet as a church mouse when l come back form shopping l have a job finding her onmce l walked straight up to the cage and she was not there l turned round in panic only so see her sitting on the back of my arm chair watching me. She has been acting very strangely today, when l played the organ she wanted to rub herself on me l kept putting her back on the cage and even locked her in but as soon as l let her out she was back on my shoulder wanting to rub herself on me. Also she has been chomping on the cuttle fish bone so l thought eggs are not far away so l put her nesting box into the cage and turned it so the entrance faces up, l was a little woried she could not get out so l lowered a bamboo ladder in to the box but she came out eith out using the ladder and as l was trying to move the ladder she bit me so l took the ladder out altogether, l put wood chips and dried meadow grass in the box and she was as happy as a sand boy scratching and kicking it out. We had a visit from a police conciliator who wants to arrange a meeting between me and Emma to find apeaceful solution to her noise. She had a cockatiel but it died and you could see she wanted to hold Billie but Billie being Billie did not want to be held.

Re: Billie2
Nice police officer, Sanjay dislikes strangers, sits on his back perch eyeing them up distrustfully. I gave the palace a thorough scrub, but when I began unscrewing his nut pot he started growling and making feints at my hands, but not actually biting or nipping, I told him off, and he flew to the chandelier, but he was back in a heartbeat, doing it again. Of course I eventually succeeded, but then had a repeat performance re attaching it to the cage!, oy vey, after I finished and put fresh rations and water in situ, he was full of thank you noises!. We had some Deeply unpleasant neighbours years ago, and "conciliation" was mentioned, "Conciliation?", they wouldn't have left the room in one piece!, it was far too late and too complicated to "make up and be fwends". So we refused . Emma is the problem, Emma does not consider other people, so how will "conciliation" work?. PS, their kids threw slug pellets over the fence and my daughters Boxer girl was poisoned.

Re: Billie2
I have sussed out Why my little minky keeps hovering near the walls etc, "he" is looking for a nesting site, apparently they like dark places, so the cage and UV light are definitely deterring "him", so I've put things which "he" hates in places where "he" shows interest. Eventually, of course, tummy clock calls, but it's a pain in the proverbial whilst it lasts.
Re: Billie2
With hens it is even more urgent to find a good nesting site, l mentioned that l turned Billie's nesting box on its end having read that Alex nest in the bottom of tree holes well every thing was okay up to today, Bille was scratching at the base of the upturned box and mewing, actions speak louder than words so l turned the box down and she just sat in it with her eyes closed, utter contentment!
This morning while sitting on my arm having a neck scratch she was purring just like a cat and she has been scratching the floor of the cage scattering all the shredded card board all over rmy carpet l only vacummed Wednesday and now it looks as if a bomb has gone off. However she might settle down a bit now her box is right way up for her.
The geese in the park have started to mate, there is a dreadful honking from the island they nest on, even the pigeons seem more intent on mating. Spring is in the air. Well l am waiting on the concilliator to let me know of a date and time for this meeting bets are on that Emma would not show up. I have another very noisy neighbour but l think the people living below and next door should complain and not leave it all up to me, last night he woke me up with his firends loud shouting at 1.30 am but thankfully it stopped at 2 am. I feel sad because there are so many desperate people looking for housing and yet the anti social brigade hang onto their homes. Still l suppose you have to take the rough with the smooth.

Re: Billie2
I am more convinced Sanjay is female after yesterday and today, I've long suspected it, why else is there no neck collar at five years?, I am not buying nesting boxes and dummy eggs, I refuse to encourage it, and if that means No cuddles or tickles as well, then so be it, I will wait it out. The wild birds have been at it for a long while, when we lived in the countryside, we would hear vixens calling for a mate, a spooky sound!. Sometimes people are scared of complaining, they worry in case it causes bad feeling, why? The neighbours making the racket obviously don't care about it!, there's no good will as far as they're concerned. We have homeless people sleeping in shop doorways here, Jack once said "what a shame grandma", I replied "the shame is theirs Jack-Jack, because they're homeless for a reason, they probably did things they weren't supposed to", but adult wise?, they're mostly drug users and inebriates.
Re: Billie2
There is so much help availble for rough sleepers but they mostly do not take advantage of the offers. Have you noticed an increase in the numbers of people begging? There is a woman of mid European who bangs her tin on the ground as you go past l just say "It is illlegal to beg in this country" although l do not know whether that is true. Billie had a rough morning she complained of morning sickness and wanted extra cuddles. If l were you l would nor worry that Sanjay has no collar the time to worry is when an egg appears. Billie sits in her nesting box without moving worries me sometimes l put my hand in and stroke her she seems to enjoy that. She allowed me to lift the nesting box up today so I could clean the tray. When l got back form my walk l could see her sitting on top of the cage watching me come up the drive.

Re: Billie2
Yes, begging Is illegal, I remember telling a guy he was stupid to give money, he said he was a Christian, to which I replied, then you would know about "tough love", you're just feeding his habit. They refuse help because it involves getting clean and getting a job. Today the nest searching didn't last too long, but I'm holding back on cuddles and tickles, (tough love again), once he realises there isn't anywhere suitable in the sitting room he will give up, hopefully. The palace is very egg unfriendly, thankfully. Wilko's do a pink anti bacterial spray, safe around pets, and it's brilliant for a quick spruce up on perches, better than the others, pleasant hum too.
Re: Billie2
Christians have an obligation to help the poor and needy, the orphans and widows but give money? No they need to refocus their giving perhaps time in to run a shelter? I do not give anything to strangers who ask for money but l do have my little ascts of charity nearer home. Male birds can look for nesting sites a sort of wedding pressent! Poop off is pretty wicked at cleaning perches and mats. Keep Sanjay or is it Sanjune off sugary items for awhile to see if that cools his ardour, l don't change Billie's diet not do l stint on cuddles
She was upset at Emma's noise this afternoon, l duly phoned the police and got an incident number, but they want me to phone the council to see if recording equipment csn be put in.

Re: Billie2
Yes, and yes, Log it with the police, log it with the landlord, and tell the ASB team at the council, it cannot be allowed to continue. I pottered in my little garden this morning, and didn't need my pain killers!, the bag of farmyard manure from wilko was a pleasant surprise, not a hint of whiff!, all's to do now, is plant up my hanging baskets and window boxes, when I get my delivery from Unwins in March, yellow begonias and double purple petunias. Today, my little minky perched on the picture rail and chandelier in turn, he accepted some chicken when he sat atop his cage door, but after he'd noshed it went back to the picture rail, in all his five years, he has Never perched on the picture rail before!. After an hour and a half his tummy clock called him indoors for high tea. Poop Off is expensive, Wilko pet safe anti bacterial cleaner is much cheaper, especially while it's on special offer at the moment. I think Poop Off is imported, so you're paying for import duty. Sanjays splats go on newspaper, he doesn't splat on his cage or perches, thank goodness, the spray shifts sticky beak residue from his perches.
Re: Billie2
Billie is a little bit off colour she came out of the shower pink oops that should have been in the pink but her poops are very runny, She is very amorous wanting to mastubate on me she tries all sorts of angles and l keep saying no a couple of years ago l did allow her to but she became very hormonal. She got very wet in the shower partly because she had a bath before l took her in, and l topped up the water in the dog bowl so it was up to her waist. She had a lot fun ripping up a card box, scratces like a chick and all the card board bits get kicked out her cage onto my carpet, its all happening this week Wednesday l have a meeting with the housing officer about you know who and thursday l have another meeting with the police woman at 11 am at a local address for reconcilliation meeting between Emma and me but Emma does not get up until gone 2 pm so that could be a wasted morning. Poop off is made in the good old US of A.

Re: Billie2
Yes, the name tends to give it's pedigree away. Well, Sanjay stopped his odd behaviour as quickly as it started!, long may it last. I picked up my Parrot magazine today, I don't understand how in the UK winter, indoor birds get bitten by mozzies or gnats!, very odd. I couldn't find papaya again today I shall have to wing it, and take the chance my replacement offerings will get thrown overboard!. I hope all this sorry business with Emma gets sorted out satisfactorily for you.
Re: Billie2
So do I, Emma has been very good recently the lull before the storm? On my walk l found an old speaker box, the speaker long gone but there is a nice round holed in one side and face down might make a nesting box. I put it on the table and Billie was very interested she inspected the box from all side, put her head into the hole and actually lifted one foot to help her see inside, if ahe goes in then l shall offer it as a replacement nesting box as it is more private than the the she uses at the moment. Went shoping today and like an idiot dropped my idiot sheet but managed to remember most things. There was a spider on the floor Billie stood on top of her cage staring at it, at first l could not see what she was looking at, Flies giver her the willies, she screams if they go into her cage. Her poop is back to mormal.

Re: Billie2
That's a good sign, little minkey over did his flying today, eventually landing on my Davenport writing desk panting!, so I told him to calm down and stop being a numpty, I gave him some purple sprouting broccoli and he actually noshed most of it, he usually just shreds it..I planted a pink Paeony today, I love the scent, but it probably won't flower until next year.
Re: Billie2
Its be kind to a peony week. Emergency: My kitchen light has been flickering all week and when it went out last night l had to use the cooker hood light. So this morning l rushed down to the local hardware store and bought a new tube and two starters came home installed them and it still would not work so phoned the HA they sent out an electrician and he confirmed that the light had burnt out and the HA were not replacing fluorescent lights so he put a bulk head light with 40 watt bulb it is so dim l can hardly see, still better than no light. The HA officer Lylette came today and took my latest complaints, then she went down to speek to Emma and true to form Emma hit the roof and and started yelling. Its an ongoing situ. Billie is still trying to find ways she can masturbate on me each time l put her back on the cage and say "No thank you" It wont be long before the first egg arrives.
Numpty? It was snowing this morning and because of the electrician and Lylette coming l missed my afternoon walk which was a good thing as it has turned rather cold here/

Re: Billie2
Cold and rainy here, but we did get a couple of sunny spells. When we moved in, the bathroom had one of those enormous glass dome shades, the weight was pulling the ceiling rose away from it's wiring, so they replaced it with a bulkhead light, way too dim,, my new kitchen was fitted with circular flourescents, lovely and bright, so I phoned the HA and complained about the bulkhead one, when they replaced it with a lovely new circular flourescent, the sparky was disgusted by the bulkhead light, he said they are Not suitable as domestic lighting. You should complain, you're a pensioner and tell them your eyesight isn't as good as it used to be (wink). Oh dear, so it's ok for Emma to dish it out, but she can't take it?. Sanjay minkeyed around again, so I just waited it out, he eventually got fed up and went indoors.
Re: Billie2
Well l phoned the HA and a nice lady said she knew of no reason why l had a bulkhead light in the kitchen and she would make the electrician put in a flourescent and he is coming tomorrow, Emma has been in all day but she did not show at this reconcillation meeting, Tanya asked me not to complain to the HA about any more inicdents but to let her know and so l phoned her this evening with the news that Emma was shouting on the telephone and l could hear every word, l had a gentile up bringing and swear words were never part of our family but Emma is terrible every other word was Fxxx this and Fxxx that. Tanya said she would try and arrange another meeting next week, In the odds and ends box l found a clip on light bulb holder and l have pressed that into service to help me see in the kitchen. Billie has been trying to invent new ways she can masturbate on me she is getting very insistent, but l keep saying no and when she takes no notice so l put her back on the cage she was so disgusted she pooped down my back! Washed a load of shirts today, l hate laundry days l tend to leave the laundry until l have run out of smalls, l have been known to fish out the freshest ones and turn them inside and make them go another go, a bit like the Young Ones! Tanya had a Cockatiel but it died and she misses it very much Tanya thought it was a male bird and then one day he laid an egg! It happens.

Re: Billie2
It happened with one of my mums budgies!. Glad you spoke up about the light, they make a huge difference when they are nice ones. Emma behaved exactly as we thought, with her no show, I bet she gives the next one a miss too. There's a curious, unpleasant niff in the hall, near flat 1, he's been trying to mask it with Lynx, and that combination makes me retch, so I reported it to the HA, this guy never goes shopping, and I suspect he's blocked his loo with newspaper, it happened before with another tenant. Sanjay watched me put a canary seedy bar in his house today, and went indoors at warp speed!
Re: Billie2
The electricains came today they were late and l was just about to panic when they came at 1.30 pm they installed a new flourescent light the old one was 4 foot long the new one is 5 foot and is so bright l could sunbathe under it. It has a 58 watt tube. It shows my kitchen up to be a bit grubby so will have to spring clean soon. Tried to phone the HA today but all got was a message "This office is now closed." Do they ever do any work?
Did the rest of my laundry sheets and towels. Emma was very noisy last night she woke me up with her shouting at 2 am and then at 2.30 am she started some housework, l put ear plugs in and drifted back to sleep but again she woke me with banging doors and this time it was gone 3.30 am before l could get back to sleep, only to wake up when the alarm went off at 5.30 am! I telephoned Tanya and suggested she might like to call on Monday to hear the latest news and see Billie. Billie is still trying to rub herself on me but seems to be losing interest in card board boxes. Oh she has ignorred the cheshnuts so l shall have to eat them myself. Goody gum drops/

Re: Billie2
That's a phrase I hadn't heard in decades!. Sanjay stayed on his door and went indoors with the fresh rations, no fly past today. The nasty niff went around the same time the tenant put his laundry out to dry, he even opened his windows today!. Emma doesn't listen and ignores what she is told, and people like her get ever so huffy when they find they've been evicted. Maybe your kitchen could stand a nice fresh lick of paint now spring is here?, it makes a huge difference, and is no more hard than washing walls, in fact, it's easier.
Re: Billie2
um! Sounds like hard work, no the walls can stay as they are. In the LR l had a leak from the roof for 20 years and there are various patches of paint, and water marks but eventually it was stopped but the ceilng can stay as it is until l have gone. And in the BR it is even worse the plaster above the window has come away and the curtains are hanging on by their curtain rings like grim death but that can wait until l am gone unless the curtain rings give up the ghost or more plaster falls down, it is like the central heating the HA want to instal radiators but l cannot see myself moving tons of furniture and other bits just to to keep the radiators turned off. It was bad enough when they revamped my kitchen l pots and pans tins of food stashed all over the place even in my bath. It took me a month of sundays just to find the baked beans! Billie likes to bathe in her pool on top of the book case she pretends it is a roof top swimming pool and splashes me with water as she ducks and dives. There were various long cardboard boxes the electricans wanted to take away but l pressed them into service by cutting them up and Billie gets a piece a day to rip up. One of my neighbours leaves his washing in the bath to soak and the last time he said they were all slimy there was a horrible smell in the laundry after he had washed them worse he uses washing up liquid in the maching, thank goodness l have done my laundry, I have enough clean smalls to last a long time.

Re: Billie2
Washing up liquid?, when he could buy laundry detergent in poundland if he's that hard up, eww, there was a damp stain in the bedroom from an old roof leak (since repaired), a lick of white satinwood topped with emulsion made that disappear for good. Age UK have a handy man service, £16.00 an hour, worth bearing in mind, our HA evicts tenants for not reporting or allowing repairs. I cleaned my windows today and put my spring/summer curtains up, when Sanjay came out to play, he started dive bombing and squawking at them, anyway, I carried on as normal, and when I came in with his tray of fresh rations I couldn't see him, (again), then I spotted him, clinging to the scary curtains exploring the folds, ah well, everyone has that sort of friend I suppose!
Re: Billie2
Good old Sanjay. Billie is suffering from hormones, her cloaca looked very sore so l sprayed it with hallo vary which helps, she has been pulling feathers from around it, she did this last year but they grew back after the laying was over. She sits on my shopulder looking very dejected, she spenda lot of her time in the nesting box crouched down, l will be glad when she starts to lay and then l can put all the dummy plastic eggs in hopefully that will stop her laying any more and she can sit on them for as long as she wants. But l do not know whether to put them in before she starts laying, pehaps not.
I found an old speaker box and have put that on the floor under the table but she is not interested in it, when l got back form church she was sitting in her bathing pool looking out from the top of the book case.
Very noisy last night Emma started to bang around at 1.30 am and contunued until after three l have found that if l put on my radio put in my ear plugs and turn the sound down so l can hardly hear it l can sleep through her noise, When l took out the ear plugs l was amazed at how lout it was so l turned it off at 5 am. My first Alarm goes off at 5. 30 am l put the fan heater on in the bath room and then go back ot bed for an hour then the second alarm goes off at 6.30 am. I like to get up early and Billie enjoys seeing me early too.

Re: Billie2
Billie's bum looks a lot better today the Aloe Vera works, she sat for a long time on my shoulder as l played the organ without asking permission to rub herself on me but when she does ask she taps my ear lobe and if l say no and if she does not listen and she is put back on her cage.

Re: Billie2
I replied yesterday, but it seems to have disappeared, my female dogs lost all their belly fur towards whelping time, female rabbits use their lost fur to make the nest cosy before giving birth, so Billies btm problem is probably natural. Sanjay is still persistently staying out longer and clinging to the curtains, until tummy O'clock, his splats are very watery, and according to google, this is a symptom of broody hen. According to our residents association self appointed chairman, there is a drug user down the road, making life merry hell for his neighbours with excessive noise etc, they have been given log sheets to fill out, but it is taking too long, they want it stopped ASAP, I told him, they need to keep logging it with the police, because the police can get troublemakers evicted, in the words of Michael Caine, "not many people know that"
Re: Billie2
My HA would not take anymore complaints about Emma unless l phoned the police and got an incident number, police want me to phone the council and get recording equipment installed where does the buck end? Now l have been palmed off with the idea of reconcilliation and nothing is happening. So l shall complain to rhe HA again but it has been rather quiet just recently. The police can take offending equipment away, and dish out ASBO's at the moment there is a group talking outside my bedroom window , l have turned down my Hi-fi so l can listen to them. Billie's btm seems to have healed up nicely and she hides her bare patch, l hung up some melon and yellow pepper for her but she has ignored them both. I have now turned on my punk record Dexi's Runners it is enough to scare anyone away. But they seem to be rooted. Thank goodness it is quite cold. I wanted to go to bed early last night so did not wait for your email, slept a good 9 hours.

Re: Billie2
Good for you, I get like that sometimes, can barely stay awake after 2100 hours. Today himself was trying to get ensconced in the curtain folds, so I dropped the tie backs, leaving nothing to suggest a nest, he gave up after a brief inspection and went indoors for a nosh up. There is a saying, "it's the squeaky hinge that gets the oil", keep on complaining, keep on nagging, and eventually the police will force the HA to act, reconciliation is Not an option. Dynarod came out today and checked the drains, nada, the pong in the hall continues. Santa Never leaves his flat, not to check for post, never to put rubbish out, and never buys food, his minions still visit, maybe they do everything, but that guy is a study in still life!
Re: Billie2
Male or female nesting is an instinct today l tried to get Billie's nesting box out of the cage but she would not get out of it l tipped it up side down but some how she managed to cling on so used the thin nozzle of the vac and poked it into her cage and like a bat out of hell she flew for dear life so l managed to vac out the box, then l went looking for her she was clinging to the net cutains across the bathroom entrance, she was glad to be rescued and l took her back and showed her the nice clean nesting box she was very impressed. Laer l told heer that the bath room was still warm if she wanted a shower and she gladly consented and got very wet, I left her while l refilled her bucket with sunflower seeds. I had to turn up the gas fire to keep her warm. The lunch time l moved her bathing pool back onto the book case and went for a walk but it was still raining so l came back and found Billie sitting in the water very wet. She ripped up a cardboard box at lunch time and then started to rip up the paper on the roll which l tell visitors is her loo paper some even believe me!

Nought so strange as folk. It tipped down all Tuesday night and all day yesterday, anyway, Sanjay spent ages perching on the curtains again, so I am trying the early night theory, and covered him at six, turned off all lights, turned TV to mute and subtitles, there were a few querulous little noises from behind the cover at first, but he soon settled. So now I wait to see if it will make any difference, tbh, Peter, I wonder if your nest box is encouraging Billie to lay?, from what I've read, they are not a good idea. Personally, I am making Sanjays habitat as un nestable as possible.
Re: Billie2
She has not laid anything yet and she has had the nesting box for three weeks also l put another down on the floor two weeks ago but she is not interested in that. She does spend time in her nesting box inside the cage mostly scratching. I would be pleased if she did lay as it is more seasonable than last year (Jan and Sept) and the year before in December, one year Ellie put in a nesting box that her hen did not use and the following year they did not put one in at all. Even though it is light out side Billie is still insisting she wants to be covered up at 3.30 pm. She moans like the dickens if l make any noise so l have to watch my tv with head phones and all the lights off. She will not take "No" you cannot masturbate on me" and persists so l have to lock her in when l play the organ, I had a phone call from the policeman who is dealing with my complaint about noise from Emma to say she had declined to take part in reconcilliation meetings which lets me off the hook now l can badger Lylette to deal with it, however it has been quiet the last week.
Re: Billie2
Perhaps Sanjay's only option is the curtain maybe if you made a small cardboard box he could be as happy as a Sanjay? Early nights are good for them remember Sanjay needs 14 hours sleep.

Re: Billie2
Emma refusing to co operate is great, because she is not doing herself any favours. Sanjay played around on the curtains again, with quick fly arounds, his splats are normal, and he doesn't try it on with me, in fact, tickles and cuddles are out of favour with him at the moment. So maybe I am misreading the signs. It would be great if Billie would give it a miss, I read on t'internet they can end up with Osteoporosis amongst other things if they lay infertile eggs. I remember my Irish grandad using a candle flame to check if the eggs were fertile, the first part of a chick to develop is it's heart, so if he could see a little dot, he knew the egg had been fertilised, clever eh?. Once when we were there, a one legged chick hatched, and he shut it in a wood shed with it's dam to sort out, I being a child, wanted to adopt it!,oh, the innocence of children!.
Re: Billie2
During the war we lived on a farm at Buckleberry and when l was 4 it was my job to feed the chickens my favourite bird l called Matilda and wanted her to peck first but she always wanted to be last. One day the farmers wife grabbed Matilda and took her into the kitchen where using a big cleaver she chopped the head off. The body ran aorund the kitchen l was too daze to understand what had happened but at dinner that night everyone was saying how tasty Maltilda was and ever since l have never been able to eat roast chicken.
I can eat chicken burgers but what chicken burger looks like a chicken?

Re: Billie2
If you knew what went into chicken burgers, nuggets etc, you definitely woulsnt eat them either, I dont, a roast chicken, which has been free range, is infinitely preferable. My grandfather slaughtered his chooks outside, and he tucked their heads under his oxter first, to send them to sleep.
Re: Billie2
If you knew how chickens were killed you would never eat another dead or alive! Have you heard "Keep your pecker up?" Sometimes hens do not lay beacause they are broody and a child is sent into the hen house before they wake up, the child is holding a stick with a cockerals head on it and it is called a pecker as the hens wake they see the cockerals head and think its time to lay an egg. Billie has been exploring again she wanted to go onto the floor and l watched her all the time, She amde a b-line for a blanket and stuck her her under it then she wantedto under the cage but l drew the line at further eplorations as it was getting late. Earlier she climbed down the outside of her cage but did not fly to the floor this was after l decided to take her nesting box out and after l decided to leave it in there is nothing inside/ She wa so persistent and sitting on my shoulder and rubber her self on me l had to lock her into the cage and she made these littlecries "Oh what have l done?"

Re: Billie2
Sanjay was uber naughty today, refusing to go indoors, and I got really fed up, so I had to towel him, he sulked for a bir, but soon forgave me, and we are bezzie mates again.
Re: Billie2
What caused the rebellion? It is out of character he is such a sweetie. Billie gave me two nasty shocks today this morning it looked as if she had a lump on her back l took a lot of photos but later she was back to normal l had thought she was egg bound and then after lunch the sun was shinning into the LR so l turned off the centre light but as l was watching TV l did not notice it got dark and Billie sat crouched up in the corner pf her cage for half an hour but as soon as l turned on the centre light she perked up. It was very warm today went out with only a fleece and a gilet opps l wore trousers in case you get some funny ideas/

Re: Billie2
Funny ideas? Moi?, as if!. No idea what goes on in my little minkeys grey cells, but he went indoors voluntarily today. It was beautiful here today, as well, I pottered in the garden and the amount of greenfly on my roses was startling!, so I gave them a good spray, usually the ladybirds are waking up, but I didn't see any. Thanks for the heads up on Parrot magazine, I won't get mine for another couple of Weeks, I don't know why it takes so long. Watching Crufts, and reminiscing about our years exhibiting and breeding dogs, back then, there were no tourist exhibits, the competition is a lot stronger now we have furriners taking part.

Re: Billie2
Woohoo! Guess who stepped on to my hand today? First time Ever!
Re: Billie2
Do you mean foreigners taking part in Crufts? It always made me laugh when Chums (dog food) could announce that the winner was fed Chums. They gave Chums to everyone who entered! Another clever advertising pun was "9 out of ten cats whose owners say they prefer Whiska's say they prefer Whiska's!"
Billie wanted to be covered up at 4 pm which is a bit later than yesterday and l was watching an old episode of Spooks and she started to moan so l left her to her slumbers and cooked my dinner, Shepherd's pie 500 calories starvation tomorrow.

Re: Billie2
Forgot to congratulate Sanjay on his fine effort soon he will be sitting on your shoulder Billie steps upon to the back of my hand and she knows that l do lot like her sitting on my flesh so she moves up on my arm onto my sleeve. I think the lump on her back is posture she showing me she is ready for mating, I told her "Tough luck old bean l am not ready."

Re: Billie2
Tell her you have a headache!. When our dogs qualified for Crufts by winning a 1st 2nd or 3rd at a championship show, we were given a voucher for a crate or few of Chum, Not All dogs entered get Chum! Or Eukanuba as it is nowadays. When a dog we bred won his class at Crufts, an American couple offered his owners a blank cheque, which was refused quite adamantly!. Sanjay stepped on to the back of my hand to launch himself, either that or he wussed!.
Re: Billie2
Sanjay is showing you he loves you and he is beginning to trust you more. Billie did me proud she stayed up until sunset at 5 pm, she has been very active today up and down the bars scratching like mad she loves a card board herbal tea box and she can demolish one in 30 minutes but to make up the number she gets all sorts something that went down well was a quarter of Pets at home magazine cut across the cover. I put out a slice of melon and some yellow peppers each day for a week but she has not touched them and the Wilko seed bars are out of fashion which is a shame as l bought extra and must have 8 stashed under the counter but she really likes a willow stick. I put some oyster shell in a treat cup and there is the cuttle fish bone for her to top up her calcium tomorrow l will buy some dried figs as l read in Parrots they have a lot of calcium but needs to be soaked first. Although l call it a nesting box it really is not that to Billie she just likes sitting in it and looking out.

Re: Billie2
Sanjay loves dried figs! But I never soak them, they are quite moist inside. Well, I offered my hand today, but he pinned and chittered at me!, I put mixed berries on his skewer, blackberries, strawbs and blueberries, and hung an impeckable sunflower seedy bar, he shot over and was back indoors before you could say pretty Polly!. The cage dimensions do not allow for anything you cannot hang up or attach to the bars, he Never goes down to the basement, besides, I am dubious about cardboard boxes, because they can cause obstruction. The mystery of the whiffy hall was solved today, the drains next door were blocked!, so I phoned the HA and told them, so they know why Dynarod found nothing wrong here, the house next door is privately owned. Billie seems to be improving!, that's great news.
Re: Billie2
We have a new page design l like it. This morning when l uncovered Billie there was an egg on the tray. "What's this egg doing here. Did you lay it? I asked Billie. "Who me? No sir! Well alright l did!" I cleaned around it but when l took the tray out to clean l carefully took the egg out and hid it behind the clock, and then when l put the tray back l put in 6 news shiny plastic eggs, Billie eyes boggled. She hid in the nesting box so l carefully lifted each one and put it into her nesting box. She watched but did not interfere but l rashly added some dried grass. And she was kicking it out with vigour and hit one of the eggs. "Careful>" I yelled, "It might be a dummy but that is no way to treat it." After that she tried to sit on them two under one wing two under the other wing and two in milady's chamber. Shopping today so l bought a load of goodies back. Grapes, figs, Water Cresss, a red pepper, some more pomegranites, melon, and more. Don't rush Sanjay or all could be lost let him come to you. Billie sat on my shoulder while l played the organ but when she thought l was not looking started to rub her rear on me, so it was back in the cage but her luck was in, my back was giving me hell so l let her out and watched Tv. Difficult when you have mixed properties for years we had special needs with their own housing officers all part of the same HA but these officers thought our community was too snotty so they put in working prostitutes to us bring down a peg or two, but those days are over thank goodness. Well nearly I told Lyllette that Emma had refused reconcillation meetings. But l was too quick whan l said she had been very quiet recently she has a friend and they have started to shout this happens when they start drinking hopefully they will be quieter as the alchohol bites.
