Hi from Western Australia

Post by Kelvin »

Hi All

I've been busy reading through a lot of posts so thought if say g'day. We have just recently brought a 1-2 year old green female IRN (Mish) and very much learning.

From what I've been told, she was quite tame at her previous house but the last few week she was put back in the outside aviary with the breeders.

Mish has bonded very well with me so far and is quite tolerant of my wife and daughter. In the 3 days we have had her she is already stepping up on to my hands and along my arms. Today she is letting me "scratch" her belly.

I just love how inquisitive she is, can't wait for her to start talking. I talk to her and she starts to move her beak around like she's trying to get something out but it's just not there yet.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting to you all.
Cheers!!

Hi Kelvin and Mish - welcome!

By what you said about Mish going from a house and cage to being put outside in an aviary for a couple of weeks, she's doing very well! Certainly having achieved her actually ON you is amazing :)

Keep posting updates and hope you have fun here, Loo :)

Congratulations on the new bird. I love "birdie rehab" stories, but I love even more that you managed to get her "at risk" and divert her into a successful home situation!

Good Job!
