Post by thirdy »

Hi there. . .
I have a dark green male and a sky blue female. What color chicks will I get pairing these two birds together?
Thanks. . .

Hi I know that this is an old post, but here are the results

1.0 D green
x 0.1 blue cinnamon
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue cinnamon
50.0% 1.0 D green /blue cinnamon
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
50.0% 0.1 D green /blue

Thanks

The male is split pallid and they gave a cinnamon lacewing chick. Can this chick be a female? Please I need to know.

The chick can't be a cinnamon lacewing because both mutations inherit sex-linked recessive. So the whole male offspring is inheriting the cinnamon gen from the mother and the female offspring could inherit the pallid (lacewing) gen from the father but they couldn't inherit the cinnamon gen from the mother. So i am pretty sure your have a normal lacewing and it should be a female.
