My baby slept on my shoulder for the first time

Post by elaine »

I am so excited, and honoured actually, lol. My baby now 12 weeks old (I have had him only 4 weeks) fell asleep on my shoulder yesterday. I was at my computer with him on my shoulder. He was preening and just generally taking it all in. The there was no movement. I turned my head and there he was, sound asleep. I am guessing he really trusts me now to do that and sees me as safe as his cage. I have taken alot in that has been put on this forum and it has helped me alot and also given me lots of laughs too. Thanks. Just thought I would share this as I was so excited I wanted to tell the whole world - silly I know. lol :)

that's great, especially at only 12 weeks,
how do you get him to trust u so quickly in such little time, or did u have him from when he was born and handle him from then?

Aaaaawwww its so cute to hear about babies! I remember when we first got Datsun, we would be playing with her and then suddenly she would just be asleep. On the floor, on my lap, in my top... too cute!

I miss having babies around! Maybe I should get another........

You're doing a great job! Keep it up!

Hey Datsun might like a new friend huh? I know how it goes, once you start you can't stop. I was walking around my local store lately and they had the cutest little IRN babies. Had to pull myself away or I was gonna end up with another!

Hi Doch, I have spent alot of time with my bird. I bought him from my local store when he was 8 weeks old. I work full time but when I come home for lunch i get him out and just be with him, give him some treats etc, then when I come home from work at night, he has some free play time then we do stuff together even if its just on the computer with him on my shoulder and I talk to him. I have learnt alot from this forum and from other sites like it. I am also lucky in that where I bought him from are still interested in his progress and also give me tips. I am new to this and find it so exciting except for those frustrating days when he looks at me like I am some kind of alien and won't have anything to do with me!!!!!
