Hello to all of you and thanks for what looks a really good resource.
I am living in a suburb of Sydney with my 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter, Dusty a 2.5 year old Shih Tzu sort of dog and Jacky a Maltese Terrie type of dog aged 1.6 years and two budgies and importantly an Indian Ringneck male aged we think about 8 years. Both children go to the local primary school. I am a lawyer when not looking after a charity for treating dyslexia.
The Ringneck, like the two dogs, was a semi-rescue sort of bird, and was taken over from an old lady when the bird's father, living in the outdoor aviary, died. Carmen was worried Dudley as we call him would be lonely.
Dudley was apparently hand reared but when we go him a week or so ago he was in an outside rather run down sort of aviary.
We need help getting to know Dudley.
We would like to breed him if it is not too late. Do any of you living around the Hurstville in the Sydney area have a female we can buy?
are there any tips you can give us to make the mating successful such as the ideal time to breed and how (do we introduce the birds now by putting the female in he cage?)
How big a cage is ideal and is it better to leave outside or half and half.
Naturally we will be reading the website and buying the necessary book, but any tips greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Peter
