Flying

Post by williesgirl »

Well the irony of today is not lost on me. We took Tonka in to get his wings clipped (very sad bird) and Took my oldest son shayne to his first flying lesson (going for his pilot license). A very strange feeling. I felt so mean as Tonka screamed and terrified as shayne flew past at 160km an hour. Strange day...

to a bird a plane would be viewed as a predator. Anything fast moving above them is viewed as a threat even if it's one of their own species a bird is always wary.

sorry wasn't very clear
Felt mean when he screamed at the vets getting his wings clipped after work. Shayne had flying lesson in morning before work and i felt terrified watching him. They didn't get to see each others adventure. But good news he stepped up onto a perch today for me. Thank goodness for getting him clipped we might get somewhere now. I was starting to feel like we were failing and never going to get anywhere.

Yep! wing clipping does miracles for helping with the taming of a bird. They become reliant on you
