18 week ringneck still bluffing??????
My ringneck weaned at 12 weeks and since then she still shows the signs of bluffing. She has never been one for cuddles or scratches but she is getting increasingly violent. She will step up, wave, give me kisses for treats but she randomly bites HARD. According to all my research i have to ignore the biting and it will pass but its been 6 weeks and seems to be getting worse. She is out of her cage with me for a minimum of 4 hours a day and i clicker train most days to which she responds well. If i walk away she flies to me right away. Im not sure what else I can do but its getting to the point where I almost dont wanna hold her. anyone have any similar troubles with bluffing?

Hi my IRN Neo is only 9 weeks old last week started to bluffing stage, tried to bite me squawked like I was trying to kill him/her. I just ignored Neo and it seems to have worked. I always use a hand towel to get Neo in or out of the cage (and I always use the same towel) Just keeping Neo's head covered talking calm to Neo he/she settles down fine. My poor little hands still get a good chopping now and then but I really don't think Neo means to hurt. Good luck with the bluffing and let me know how you go.
Cheers Donna and Neo
