GUESS WHAT??

We got the new cages this weekend and have them all set up. Told my husband we're probably going to have one heck of a time getting Byndi out of this cage, cuz it's so much bigger than the old one. Well Byndi is inside the cage and John goes over to try to get him out and puts his hand inside. Byndi starts to climb all over and goes to the floor of the cage and John puts his hand right down there and by gosh he stepped right up on his hand and climbed up his arm to John's shoulder!!! I was and still am so excited! John's been holding him almost every day for like an hour or so and Byndi really seems to be coming around. Still a little hand shy but he will step up onto our fists from the cage instead of trying to fly away and he hangs on our shoulders!! But it is so cool. I really believe he's coming around. Slowly but surely! He's starting to trust us! I'm so happy and excited! He's on my shoulder as I type this. He was hanging on my husband's shoulder while he shaved tonight. I'm so happy!

thats so wonderfull to hear it sounds like byndi is coming around nicely good luck you have done a wonderfull job!!!!!!!!

Pics of new cages please!! With beautiful birdies in them preferably :wink:

Isnt it so fun to set up new rooms for our babies? When we clean out Datsuns room we always shuffle things around and 're-decorate' I have so much fun, I'm always so proud of myself when she runs about to check everything out.

Thats so good to hear...

And... contrary to what you would think, some birds become easier with larger cages. Don't ask me why, because I just don't get it... but I've had it happen time and time again.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys! I was so excited when he just stepped right up onto John's hand! And he's been doing that the last couple days from the outside of the cage. Used to be he'd try to fly away from us and we'd have to pick him up from the floor. But now he'll step up onto our hands from the cage. I'm just so excited! He's slowly coming around! I also gave him a kiss on his beak and he didn't rip my lips off last night! So excited. I'll post pictures soon.
