Six months ago, a sick IRN landed on our window sill. We tried to look for its owner, but no one claimed him. My boyfriend and I co-adopted him with another couple and named him Francis.
Within a few days, we discovered that he had a prolapsed cloaca that our vet couldn't cure. He died last Sunday after a minor purse stitch that helped keep his cloaca intact. This was the fifth time he's undergone the procedure. For some reason, he didn't survive this one. He woke up briefly from the anesthesia then just stopped breathing.
Francis was the first bird we've ever had. We miss him so much. He was such a great pet. He was very smart and affectionate.
We are now on the lookout for a male IRN, green preferably. We would love to adopt one or buy one at a reasonable price. Would someone please point us in the right direction. We are based in Brooklyn, NY and prefer breeders close by.
Thanks!

Just scroll through the listings or type in Indian Ringneck and there will be ample of listings I am sure! I have two email address for people who had breeders, perhaps they have other ringnecks. They are both in New York. They are: glacierbay4@aol.com and smunger1@twcny.rr.com
I hope this helps. Best of luck!

I have a pair of greens sitting on 3 eggs right now I plan to pull the babys at 2 weeks of age and hand feed them, the parents seem to be wonderful they are a proven pair but this is my first breeding experience with birds. I've owned my own birds for years but never breed. I think you have a very good heart! If you'd like to contact me my # is 810 834-1251 thanks Christy
