Introducing myself

Post by Disaunders »

Hi everyone, I've just joined. I have browsed this forum a few times and have found it very interesting and informative, so I thought I would join. I have just been lucky enough to buy 4 beautiful ring necks from a friend who no longer wanted them. We are currently busy building them a new aviary as the cage I bought them in is too small. We live out of town in a rural area with a lot of native birds around. I think they will be very happy here

Hello, wow 4, how much fun are you gonna have!! Are they young or old? I have 3 , wish I could only have one cage, but they don't like eachother to well yet! Do you keep yours outdoors? I'm in the USA and can't do thAt, I think it would be such fun to have a big aviary outdoors to enjoy! Good luck!

Hi amb4693, thanks for replying. I'm 46. I live in rural Victoria, Australia. As far as I know, I have a male Latino (I presume that means yellow). He is 5 years old. The other three I am not sure of their gender or age. The yellow male has been courting the blue one, so I think it must be a female. After trying to work out the colours from what I have been reading, I think the blue is some kind of mutant as she has a splash of brown (perhaps cinnamon). I also have a full grey and a green one with olive and yellow coloring. Once I have the aviary built I'll be able to take some photos and the perhaps the forum can help me put a lable on their colours. The Latino has a beautify red ring and a red tinge to his eyes,
