Greetings from SW Missouri

Post by Cindy Lynn »

I am new to this forum but not to birds. Have had just about everything from finches to macaws. Currently am owned by Boo my two year old Parrotlet. He is spoiled rotten as he should be. I have recently sold out my finches as the market is really down and they were a lot of work to just sell the offspring to a wholesale so needless to say my bird room is extremely empty going from twenty plus residents to just Boo and my American Singer canary Al. I have always admired the Ringnecks and recently came across the opportunity to purchase a five month old green "girl". Of course they can not be sure as no DNA was done but apparently the breeder thought it was a girl. Her owner is having some financial problems and hates to sell her but needs to. My question is just how loud can they be? I had a Moustache Parakeet years ago but my husband was going through some serious surgeries and could not sleep through her squawking while I was at work. Found her a wonderful home where she is out all day long and is doing great. Boo can be pretty loud for a little guy and we really don't mind the noise..birds will be birds. I do work full time but do feel I have time to play with and care for two fids. I have an empty HQ cage and tons of toys so she will be well occupied. As far as aggression toward smaller birds how are they? Of course I do not plan to let them together unsupervised and it may or not even ever happen. Their cages will be near each other so they can visit and hopefully Boo will not be insanely jealous!
Tried to attach a photo of her and one of Boo but it says attachment quota has been reached.
Anyway..this is long enough..looking foward to meeting y'all.

:D Hi Julie!
i actually ended up getting a different bird..A gorgeous three month old grey IRN we named Bubba. He is just the sweetest thing ever and not loud at all. I would love to post photos but don't think I am allowed to yet.

Gday again,

Bubba thats a nice name,

I have two IRNs a blue girl called Star and recently I got a green boy called Ringo, She is sweet too but I hand raised her when she was only a few mths old, she looked like a chicken hahaha. The boy on other hand is very nasty but he came from a bad home, he is 2. I'm sure after a few weeks mths he will come good, My hand is so sore from him , he bites like a big wild cockatoo so I wont be putting my hand that close till he trusts me more

Your right you cant post a pic until you have been a member for a while, I'm only new here too so cant wait to share pics of them.

Have a good day

Julie
