bit worried
im a little bit worried about my little sonic he seemed a bit more active when we had him covered for his first night but today he is just sitting in the top corner of his cage under where the sheet is and he blends in well but when were not in the room he will come out but hes eating well and i gave him some orange and he picked at it for a few hours even managing to use it as a perchon the side of the cage.. is sitting in the corner maybe because he is still settling in or is it maybe coz of something else??

Hi Woolfey
I'm not sure I can help you with what you're asking here... Variations in behaviour when a bird is settling in can be normal but without knowing the bird and not seeing the behaviour, I can't really know... and even if I could, I probably still wouldn't know. I tend to think you are probably just overly worried, as I was for the first 2 years of having Janey
... but it's impossible for me to know.
I would definitely recommend finding an avian vet in your area though and getting yearly wellness checks. Birds naturally try to mask illness when they are sick. Quite often when the bird starts to show you signs of being sick it will be too late. This is why yearly wellness checks from an avian vet are recommended. Each year my vet does blood tests, fecal tests, body checks, etc. and whilst it is no guarantee it definitely gives me piece of mind. I also store up my medical questions and he is really patient and answers them all.
Good luck - Here's hoping that you're just being a nervous first parrot owner and there is nothing wrong with your bird.
Ellie.
