KNUCKLES IS SCARED OF EVERYTHING

Post by sarah jayne »

Hi everyone I am new to this site and I need someones help. My husband and I got our IRN about a month ago now we left him all day and all night to settle in and Knuckles was absolutley fine, after the settling in period we finally brought him into the lounge where everyone else was so that he was not by himself. Ever since then when ever anyone goes near his cage he goes mental and starts skwarking as if someone is threatning him, we can not even get our hand in the cage without him going mental and even out the cage he gets scared we need some help and some tips on how to get him to trust us. He also bites quiet alot please give us some help tips and information.

when i have time, im going to scroll through and write a lengthy reply. but in short, id say about 3/4 of the topics in this forum are new members joining with the same problem - stressed out, dont know what to do with their bird and worried they'll do it all wrong - a quick scan and you will see! never fear! i was one of those people.

key points:

- dont stress, you need to give it time. gradual steps! you have to prove you can be trusted.
- spend some time scanning through the posts, there are many lengthy responses to people with the same problem
- you've come to the right place for help!

as i said if you can read through yourself, it would be great, but if nothing else, i'll see what i can pull together

Hey Sarah,

Hope you've having success with your IRN!

If not, here's what I did with our first IRN

Biting http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... 593#p72593
Getting Aquainted http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... 594#p72594

These two techniques I learned from this forum so hang in there!! :)
