Size For Breeding Cage?

Hey,

I just have a quick question about the size for a breeding aviary. It will only have 1 pair of IRN's in it I am just wondering what are the dimensions for it ( width, length, height ) Thanks

I use breeding cages that are 180cm long 90cm wide and 90cm high. This is a good size for a pair to breed in. I move them into a larger cage for the rest of the year when they arent breeding.

i use 4ft x 4ft x 6ft height..i place them for whole year..

I use 2x3x5's for breeding. They work fine. Then a 4x8x8 flight the rest of the year (cuts down on bowls and allows for switching up the pairs the following year). Otherwise, I would just leave them in thier cages.

Hi, I'm looking at a set of two suspended avairys, each bay measuring 1200x600x900. Just wondering If this would be sufficient for them to be in the whole time?

Or I'm just thinking of getting some made or build at 2m long by, 1 metre wide by 1 metre high.

Your second option would be better for a pair if you wish to leave then in the same cage all year round. Just use some 25mm x 25mm mesh and J clips to hold it togther. It would be good to have a safety walkway at the back with access to the doors of the cages to help prevent escapes. You could then attach the nest boxes outside the cage in the walkway which would give you easier access to them. Make sure they are either double wired or a solid wall between cages to prevent fighting through the wire.
