Ideally have one session in the morning and one session in the evening, so two training sessions per day. Be sure you're in a quiet environment with minimal distraction so the bird focuses on YOU. It also helps to do the training sessions when the bird is hungry and more willing to work for whatever treats you provide. I suggest removing the food items from the cage a few hours prior to training, or removing food overnight for training in the morning. Also find which treat is your bird's favorite, he'll work extra hard for that treat. Don't use regular food items provided to him.. make this treat exclusive. Also, the training sessions should last about as long as your bird remains interested.. if the bird becomes distracted or bored of the training after a time, stop the session and put the food back and try again later when your bird is going to be more interested.
