My IRN laid an egg tonight.. and I got a reallllllllllllly closeup video of it.

Wow that looks so painfull glad it was her not me, do they make any sound or did you turn that off mind you she didnt look to worried. My pair are sitting at the moment and only 5 days till the first one should hatch, I'm so excited not done this before

I removed the sound since the tv was on quite loud and it was just distracting.
But she didn't make any noises at all.
We knew she had an egg from her behaviour in the last few weeks. The whole laying process lasted about 10 minutes. 10 minutes prior to this vid she was walking around like normal, climbing all over her cage, hopping around and making regular sounds.
We fed her some peaches.. and after a minute or so we noticed her at the bottom of her cage with her tail in the air. She was grunting and wheezing a bit. Straining quite a lot to get the egg out. When I lifted her up you could see the egg peeping through.
After 10 mins, out it popped. The whole time she was very calm.. we were playing with her, stroking her head. Immediately after she laid it, she went straight to her bell and the food dish. Like nothing happened.
But she didn't make any noises at all.

Update: She's been sitting on it quite a bit. Using her wing to cover it.
I know with her dedicating so much time to watching the egg, she'll skip some meals and not feed as much. If she does lose weight dramatically, I'll definitely remove the egg.
But otherwise should I leave her with the egg?
Will she realize in time that it's not going to hatch and abandon it?
ps. I've removed the mirror that was in her cage (that's what prompted her to lay the egg. She started getting really cozy with it and regurgitating for the mirror)
