Neokireina...a question for you! (or any breeders :D)

Post by Dani03 »

Hey! I was browsing you lovely site and was glancing at the pics of the IRNS...wow to my surprise you have a pic of an albino male with a ring!!! Who owns that beautiful male? I have never EVER heard of an ablino throwing a ring before...is this common? Everyone I have talked with says a huge no on them getting a ring. I just wanted to check with the breeding experts (anyone out there) on thos...cause now I am confused   :)

Anyone else have any answers to this puzzle???

Hey, yeah! pretty cool but I always thought albinism meant no pigment!

It's not a pure albino if it has any pigment.
A albino has just as you say absolutly no pigment at all (red eyes feathers)

People are passing them off as Rare Albino's with neck rings :x But, they aren't actually Albino. I can't remember what they really are but people are calling them Albino when they aren't

I think i remembered what they really are.
I believe they are Ino Masking Grey. When you put an Albino Cock with a Grey Hen you can get these. They sort of look a bit like Albino's but when they mature they get a ring. You can see in the link, it is a lot different to the pure Albino sitting on the right.

Yeah, it looks a lot like a Grey Lacewing.
The birds i am talking about get a caramel neck ring and people still think they are Albino
