How to post photos

Post by pinkdevil »

There have been quite a few people asking the same question on how to post their photos on the forum.

Here is a basic 'How to' guide. :)

1- Upload your photo onto a photo host like 'Photobucket', 'Imageshack' etc.

2- Once photo has been uploaded to a photo host, highlight and copy the [IMG] code. Some photos hosts have a selection for forums, sites, HTML code etc., if so choose 'FORUMS' code.
The code can looks something like this, [img]http%20://%20name%20of%20host%20here.com/albums/%20pic%200001%20.jpg[/img]

3- Once you have highlighted and copied the code, paste the code, (including the [IMG] either side of the code), in your post and Da da..... picture should appear. :)

4- If picture does not appear, than either the wrong code was used or there could be spaces or a part of the code missing. Just try copying again.

Hope this helps all the newbies. :)

Do we have something like this stickied yet? Holy resurrected topics, Batman!

For Avatars:

Go to your User Control Panel, click Profile and then Avatar. Notice you have size limits (both pixels and KiB) on your image.

You can use a basic Paint program (most OS come with one) to crop and resize your image. You can also save in different formats (gif, png, jpeg) to lower file size (in bytes).

I prefer to upload my images/avatars to photobucket and link them in, that way I never lose my image.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
