Talking!

Post by Xenobia »

I do believe Busey is practicing his talking!
Over the past week, he's been making all kinds of interesting new noises in a voice that sounds like the talking IRNs I've heard here.
No words just yet, but he's making sounds that sound like phrases and the inflections we use when we talk to him. My tree pear constantly amazes me with his capacity for chatter. :)

So... tell me about your birds talking!
How did they sound when they were learning?
What did you do to help them along?
Did they sound all garbled and eventually get clearer?
What words were the easiest for them to learn?

I want to encourage him as best I can. :)

My Baby is about 7 months old and she too has started making very different, more elaborate sounds. Very nice to hear actually.

She says Hey but it is so low it sounds like a sqeek so Im not positive, however, she does the sound everytime I approach her cage. I always say Hey Baby as I am coming so she knows to expect me to open the door and interact with her. If I DO NOT intend to interact, I ignore her.

I had one screamer, I'll never go there again. As not to create a screamer, we MUST not jump to their beckon call. Also, when they make sounds you dilslike DONT even look at them... certainly dont say hush or any sort of attention, only creates/perpetuates a screamer.

A screaming bird can literally distroy a families happiness. I know this first-hand.
