ok so next week i go back to school and Indy will be alone by herself for 5 hours every week day it isn't long but i guess its long enough for me to worry bout her. she does have toys in her cage but she doesn't seem interested in any of them. i've also noticed most toys are very expensive and most of the toys look like you could make them yourself.
so i was just wondering what kind of toys do your birds love?
do you make toys for them? what and how?
(:

Re: what toys do your birds have?
My guys usually love chewing up toys with wood in them. I bought a few initially but now I try to make my own from previous toy parts and I buy little chunks of wood from my pet store. Recently, I refilled a toy that I bought that contains lots of ice block sticks. They love chewing them up. I do find that my birds eventually get sick of a toy... so they need to be rotated.
I had bawked from getting any really expensive toys as I was worried they wouldn't use them. Recently, though, I purchased two more expensive foraging toys: the maze and the baffle cage. You put food in them and it keeps them amused for long periods of time.
I'd also recommend you check out the foraging thread that I started just before Christmas with some other ideas.
Good luck!
Ellie.
