Newbie :)

Post by Peek-a-Paulie »

Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd introduce myself and Paulie :)

Im Kiara, And have had Paulie a green Indian Ringneck for about a year now, Im uncertain of his age as we found him at the park next door. When we found him he had no tail so we assumed he was just a baby, We weren't planning on keeping him because we were sure someone would claim him, so we tried not to get attached.

I'd always loved the movie Paulie and he reminded me of the bird from there, so that was his name while he was with us. A few days passed and no one had claimed him, and we weren't willing to part with him, so now he is a much loved member of the family. My bulldog Smudge has claimed him as hers, as they do everything together.

Just thought i'd join to check out all theother pretty birds, and find out more info on them, as he is starting to get his ring.

Thanx Kiara & Paulie :D

HI there and WELCOME! You will find alot of useful info here, and anything you cant find, just ask, someone out there has an answer.

Seen as your boy is just getting his ring, i would guess he is at least 2 years old, probably closer to 3 as that is when they mature.

All the best, glad you found Paulie and he has a good home now!

Thanx for your reply (:

Well, with his rings he is starting to like get the peachy coloured bit and blue coloured bit, and the black is darker around and near his beak.

He always says many words, Such as 'Hello' 'What are you doing' 'Peek-a-boo which he sometimes changes to Peek-a-Paulie when he feels like it, 'I love you' 'What is it' 'Good boy'
and 'Come on' still has some learning today to widen his vocabulary :)

He is a funny little guy always making as laugh with his silly little antics. It is sure a sight seeing him run around the house with a 21k dog. He also annoys smudge when she is sleeping he will walk up and bite her nails or start talking to her, there very cute together.

Our birds go after doggie toes too! They seem to do it with malicious intent though, knowing the dogs can't retaliate. Welcome to the board!

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

Thanx for the warm welcome.
He is quite the character, that's for sure.

Does anyone else bird Lay upside down in your had and let you scratch their belly ?
Paulie loves it, and I think he looks cute. Matter of fact he likes laying on his back anywhere, it looks even cuter when he is in my bed on the pillow like he is asleep.

Welcome to the forum.

I've seen others do the lay on the back thing with their bird.... and some people on the forum can do it. If you can do it, it is a sign that you have an extremely tame bird!

I haven't managed it with mine yet and probably never will. Janey is our must trusting but she is feisty.... and doesn't like it when we do things that are out of the ordinary. Charlie is scared of anything new.

Congrats on your beautiful bird!

Ellie.
