Please help ID these 2 IRNs. :)

Post by nyhawaiian »

Hi All,

I was at the local birdshop today and saw these 2 birds. I decided to get them as a birthday present to myself

Anyway the shop owner was not sure of the mutation but was told they were either cinnamon or clearhead cleartail??? I am new to IRN mutations so please help if you can. They are molting so feathers are not so good. The blue one has yellow feathers on the underside of tail, hope this helps..
Thanks in advance HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

sorry dont know how to post pic lol

Happy birthday and congrats!

I am no expert on colour mutations... but was wondering if one might be a slate?

Regardless, beautiful birds... congrats....

Happy hols to you too!

Hi;

I would say grey-pallid and violet-cinnamon (in the the third pic it looks somehow violet) but not sure at all with these pics. Can you make pics with better light and tell us the nails colours?

Also what would be the best pairing for them? From what the shop owner told me they are siblings.
the grey is acting like a male...and the ring is starting to show

These are the best pics I could get sorry...using the cam from my android phone.
the blue one has white nails and the head is a lighter color blue than the body cant really tell from the pics sorry, :(
the grey one has horn or flesh colored nails and has a white head
hope you guys can tell me the proper mutation and what I should pair them with. they are supposedly siblings. 14 months old per the shop owner.

Hi,

I still think they are grey pallid and blue-cin (may be blue-violet-cin) ... but no one of these mutations display a yellow under-tail. Both belong to the blue serie and there are not psitacines shown. So if any of those birds really display a yellow undertail you own a new mutation  Can you make a pic of the whole bird from the front in order to see its undertail?

Thank You Recio for all the help in identifying these birds...assuming they are male and female is it ok to pair them together? if they truly are siblings what is the best way to pair them since I dont think pairing siblings may be a good idea...

Hi,
It is better to avoid pairing siblings.
The grey-pallid should be paired to a pallid or split pallid bird depending on its sex.
The blue-cin-may be violet should be paired to a blue or split blue bird.

Thanks Recio. The grey pallid is a hen just verified she is being courted in the flight by a proven blue male.

Is it possible to get PallidIno if I pair her with any of the below males?
I have the following males:
Albino
Lutino
Blue/Ino
Grey

Would pairing her to any of them produce PallidIno?

Thanks in advance!
Thanks,

Hi there,

If you pair her to a lutino you will get plain pallidino's.

The other pairing will depending on which ones would give you blue pallidino's and grey pallidinos.

The only one that wont is the normal grey male.

And also be aware that all the pallidino's will be male as its not possible to have a pallidino hen.

Thanks Glenn

Thanks Glenn. I understand that pallidinos are only males. I think that I'll try her with the Blue/Ino. :)
