Hi

I'm new to this site. I got my new baby about 3 weeks ago. Yellow IRN called Charlie, about 12 weeks old.
I have been doing regular feeds and all going great. Charlie loves cuddles, kisses and love.
Lately s/he been weaning of the regular formula feeds in the day.
S/he eats millet seeds / fruit and veges and seeds.

I'm treading unsure grounds with the feeding. S/he screeches in the afternoon for food even though s/he eats well in the day.

I'm not sure whether I should take Charlie complete off hand feeding and try and feed soft foods when s/he screeches, or would it only be behavioural. S/he eats about 15ml in the afternoon and some in the day.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Any suggestions on the introduction of new foods. I put out either broccoli / apples / bananas or strawberries and seeds (cocatiel seeds) and millet seeds.

Regards
Char :? / :)

hi just my way of htings, add some soft baby foods to your bird porridge to allow Charlie to get used to new tastes and flavours, then add a dish of warm veg such as peas and corn and baby carrot inthe evening and fruit in the morning, also leave a dish of seed for Charlie to experiment and play with...

Hi and welcome.

Sounds like Charlie is ready to be fully weaned. I find my birds still call out like they want formula, but when I offer they refuse.
My fully weaned bubs still call out when they hear me mixing up formula for my other young chicks, and they have been weaned for a couple of weeks now.

I place fruit/veg in their cage along with a dish of pellets and seed. Let them try everything for a variety.
