Hi Everybody!

Post by imdnt »

Hi Guys,

Just introducing myself to this wonderful forum.

My partner and I picked up a green IRN 1month ago (now 5months old) and recently added a 7 week old blue IRN (2 days ago).

I've learnt heaps from reading this forum before we took the plunge and looking forward to (if I can convince the wife) to get more of these beautiful birds.

Below is Tango (Green) and Bravo (Blue). I was playing Black Ops at the time and was genuinely surprised the wife agreed to the names hehehe :D
Bravo about to steal the Qtip from Tango.

Sorry for the crap photo. Bravo is confident in going up to Tango but Tango is a bit unsure about Bravo but they're getting better each day. Bravo is in quarantine for now till this weekend. Fingers crossed Tango has accepted him by then.
Current living arrangements ... they're very curious about each other.

Looking forward to learning more about these amazing birds!!

Cheers,
Adrian

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay

Cheers Melika!

Tango has finished the bluffing stage with me but still does it to the wife hehehe. :D

Never had a bird this young (Bravo) and just learning how much of a pig he is when it comes to meal time with foods like banana, apple and mashed sweet potato. I'm surprised he hasn't choked at the speed he eats at! I've forgotten how hard they bite but it's all good since he's still learning. Love it when he bounces his head up and down whilst chirping ... so cute to watch ... why do they grow out of that? haaaaa :D

I'll try get some better shots tonight.

The bouncing their head up and down is them asking their "parents" for food... which is why they grow out of it!

The positioning of the birds in their respective cages looks to me like their is hope they will get along... they look like they are very interested in each other.... just make sure you supervise the introductions!

Welcome and good luck!

Ellie.

Yeah I read about the heading bobbing in this forum ... would be so cool if they didn't grow out of it hehehe :)

They really love being with each other even though Tango is still a little jealous but he's really warming up to Bravo.

We bought Tango his own ceramic bowl to use at the dinner table and gave Bravo a plastic plate only cos we thought it would be easier for him. Mashed sweet potato, carrots, plum & seeds was on the menu and to our surprise, Tango preferred the white plastic plate only because Bravo was using it. Tango was quite happy eating out of his bowl till he saw what Bravo was doing.

So dinner time is now 1 plastic plate with 2 lots of food for each bird. Fids!! :D
