My IRN wants to land/bite my head

Post by zarma »

I have him for almost 2 months now,he is between 1 and 2 years (ring starts to show). He spends his time outside the cage/on top of it,and in the kitchen. He takes the food out of my hand,he eats from my plate and he has a generally normal attitude.
He landed a few time on my hand, but when i try to put my finger in front of him he wants to bite.Ok,no problem there i guess, still needs time.
My problem started few days ago, when i spread my arm sometimes and call him to land,he gets very angry and flies towards the hand and wants to bite it and grab it with his legs, also he screams when he does that. :?
Today, out of the blue I was sitting on my PC and he did that, only with my head,he did not touch me but he was very close. He's done this few times today and scared the s**t out of me to be honest.Did i piss him off somehow or what?Maybe he got used to take food from my hand and when he sees it's empty/no food in hand,he gets angry?
Maybe i feed him too random?
Is it a bluff?
Im scared for my face

If I were you, I would consider getting the bird's wings clipped. I understand that you may not want to do that but in general, it seems to make them easier to handle as a companion bird. You would still have the choice of letting them grow back next season.

Sorry, that's all the ideas I have at the moment. Maybe someone else will have a better one.

Good luck!

Ellie.
