Nipping And biteing When Steping up

Hello there i got 16 week old baby handreared WHITE LACEWING RINGNECK. Yesterday This might just be me as its still only been with me 1 day When i get it to Step up etc it Trys Nipping me not Hard bite just Nip. Then steps up. It has Tryed Hard Biting Twice When i Rest it on its Perch then Try to get it to Step up it Like moves Away am i just being Daft and just let him settle in. i have had him out off his Cage for 6 hours Tonight and 3 hours Yesterday when i brought him home.

i only herd him Wistle Away for the First time today but was only Short time. any Advice would be Great

Hi Akka, I'm currently handraising 4 of the monsters lol ( I love them dearly), and all of them when they step up kind of like to get a grip on your hand with their beaks first before their feet follow, if that makes sense.

Don't let them bluff though, a couple of mine have 'tried it on' with the 'I'm going to bite you face' and I don't pull away, but continue on as if all is normal. Then they seem to loose interest, as they know you can't be intimidated.

sounds perfect mate. He/She i have no Realized what she was doing Getting a Grip etc she Trys the Wings Spread bite but i just Ignore him/her just let he Step up as normal Thank you For Reply Akka

When they are young like that, they will be less steady on their feet and less confident so they will be more inclined to grip with their beak to assist them and to test that the surface is safe.

yeh she/he is used to me now less use off the beak when Stepping up now my other Problem is she is Soacking her Wings and Tail :S and looks like shes been pulling out he Tail Feathers Any ideas Thank you
