I had given kai a new toy. A little ball on a keyring & chain that made a shaking noise. He was playing happily with it, infact it was his newest favorite toy.
In a rush to take myself and my husband out to the doctors (nothing serious) I went to him on his stand and asked him to step up, he kept playing with his toy, step up Kai, he kept playing, put his head down on my hand as if to push me away, Kai Step up baby come on, step up for mummy.
So I took the toy and slowly tried to take it off him, he held on tight. Oh you stubborn boy, I took a seed to distract him from his toy and still he would not let go, he placed his head in my hand again. Then I saw it and I almost cried, poor baby was trying to get me to help him.
He had bitten the keyring open and it had shut back tight onto his beak. I removed it and he stepped straight up on me and sulked up to my shoulder, making a whistling noise like a really feeling sorry for himself sound.
Plenty of kisses and I'm sorry's and a check that his beak is ok, has him happy with me again. I have now realised what a silly thing it was to give him a keyring, so I took the ring off and left him with his favourite new ball, although he hasnt really touched it since. Dont' blame him, the damn thing bit him.. lol
sigh! live and learn. glad he wasn't hurt

Aaawww poor little man! What an ego killer it must be when you get bitten by your toys!
I laughed so hard I cried when I finished reading that but I am SO glad hes ok! It reminded me of Datsuns latest ego testing moment.
Datsun was playing silly buggars on the picnic table the other day, hanging upside-down off the edge then sticking her head down the umbrella hole in the middle saying 'hello' to my feet, but her head got stuck and she screamed at it and yanked her head out.... she ran to the other side of the table and then screamed again then ran back to the hole and tried to bite it! It was so cute and funny I was laughing too hard to even help the stupid girl! All is well now, no damage but she does not trust that damn umbrella hole anymore

IRNs have the Nepolean complex to the power of 10.
They embarrass easy, bless their heart. Dont take much to bruise those egos. But, have to admit... they are as brave as they are egotistical.
They panic easy in situations like that though which freaks me out a bit. Scared they will harm themselves when had they relaxed, they could get themselves out of trouble.

You know the best 'stupid toy' out there? The clips I use to clip my hair up with. Give one of those to either of my babies and they chew it for literally hours.
They are unsuccessful in breaking them (made by Goodies, they pride themselves on the strength of their plastics). However, there is a small piece of wire on the clip that holds it together so take that off OR watch them well during play.
It has to do with the smell I noticed. I bought new ones and gave one to Baby. She played a bit and thew it down. If it is one I've worn, she will cling to it with her little claw hand and chew away for days.
