Hi All,
Really worried, my 6month old baby has got lil white patches on his chest and looking slightly scruffy, I see him what looks like cleaning is feathers every so often or is that plucking? He's got loads of toys that I rotate everyday, huge cage and he is outside in the morning before I go to work for 1hour and then after work he is out again for at least 2-3 hours before bed time....he is on a pellet diet with vegetables and fruits and treats when I traing him everyday......can he be molting at 6months of age?
is gIzmo my 6month old IRN plucking his feathers or molting

Hey, I believe that Gizmo is molting, he's way too young to be plucking but in some cases they do pluck.
I have currently a Indian Ringneck (Sazu) who is molting, he is ruffled and is always grooming and getting rid
of fallen feathers, which is normal, so to answer your question I believe he's molting.
Hoped that helped.

Thank you so much for your reply....I think you are quite right....he is so happy and always playing and so I would have been heart broken if he was plucking...also I can see new feathers so he must be plucking....thanks once again
