I just caught Ink doing this, though I don't really know the purpose.
Perhaps some kind of beak grooming? Or is it possible she's doing it for the sound?
In any case, it is kind of cute. :P
She kept it up for about 20 minutes before she decided to just doze.
Do any of your babies do this? What do you think it is? :3

Yes, mine do that too sometimes. I'm not sure what they are doing but I wondered if they are reswallowing regurgitated food from their crop?

It's a comfort thing. They are relaxed or maybe even trying to go to sleep. If you notice, Ink looks sleepy when he is doing it. My cockatiels do the same thing.

Yeah, I put "sleepy" in the tag on youtube, but forgot to bring it up here. :P

Thanks.
I'm lucky she seems to be getting used to my camera. Though she still stops and stares at it for about 7 minutes whenever I bring it out. :P

I think they clean their tongue. My parrots do that every often and it's right before they sleep/doze off.
