my two year old ring neck won`t talk

I have a beautiful female ring neck who will be two in october. I hand raised her so we are very bonded and spend a lot of time together. She still has`nt started talking even though I repeat the same words over and over. I recently had to have my regent parrot put down which Sky, my ring neck ,would be very happy about as they only tollerated each other as they had to share a cage, now that my regent is gone will she start to talk? it`s been 3 weeks and still no sign, the only thing she does is when I say hello she makes a noise like a kitten, which is very cute. Does anyone know would having another bird in the cage with her have stopped her from talking?

Hello Sky,

I have aviary ringnecks and the males are the only ones who have picked speech with other birds present. The females need a bit more one on one time to develop their talking skills. The males are more gifted then the females; however, females can talk. Continue to interact with her and not stress so much on it. I hate to say it but having another bird with her might have hindered her talking development. I know it's not the news you wanted to hear--but continue to repeat words and interact with her--you never know what will happen. Each bird is their own individual.

Hi, no thats good, least I have a reason that she won`t speak, hopefully over time now she`s on her own she`ll start, love her to death anyway reguardless of wether she speaks or not but it would be pretty awsome if she did start. Thanks
